Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, January 04, 2011 Dennis L. Walter, 57, of Happy Jack, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at his home. Mr. Walter was born July 6, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, to Everett and Imogene Walter. He graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1971. As he was growing up, he enjoyed baseball. He was a member of the first Flagstaff Hot Shot crew. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service in August 2010, spending most of his career with the Coconino National Forest on the Blue Ridge and Happy Jack ranger districts. He enjoyed hunting and had a life-long passion for the outdoors. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mr. Walter is survived by his wife Judith Walter; his parents Everett and Imogene Walter; his children Paul (Sarah) Hazen, Seth Bolin, Travis (Beverly) Walter and Carrie (Jason) King; his brothers Doug (Janet) Walter, Steve (Mary) Walter and Jim (Joyce) Walter; and by his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son David Bolin. Funeral Services with be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Linda Vista Chapel, 2401 East Linda Vista Drive, in Flagstaff.
