BROWN, Ethel M.

Adams County Free Press, Corning, Iowa April 25, 1991 Ethel M. Wixom Brown, 104, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly an Adams County resident, was born January 9, 1887, on a farm at Kent, Iowa, the daughter of Bion and Margaret Worsley Wixom. She died April 16, 1991, at Highland Manor Nursng Home in Phoenix. She spent her life living in Iowa, New Mexico, California, Missouri and Arizona. On April 26, 1916, she married Stanley Brown of Adams County in New Mexico. Their son, Garth, was born on the family farm 12 miles east of Corning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter; two brothers, Rob and Bonner Wixom; two sisters, Flossy Morgan and Alice Roth. She is survived by her son Garth and his wife Louise Brown of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Alma Wixom of Kent, Washington; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held April 20, 1991, at the Albright United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, where she was a member. Burial will be in Cromwell, Iowa.
