VICKOREN, Terrel Jay (Vic)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 12, 2008 Terrel Jay "Vic" Vickoren, 67, of Lakeside died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. He was born June 27, 1940, at Great Falls, Mont., to Kenneth and Eleanor (Haxton) Vickoren. He was raised and attended school in Great Falls, graduating from high school in 1958. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Germany. He was married to the former Priscilla Garcia Jan. 12, 1962, at Albuquerque, N.M. He lived in Mesa and Tempe from 1962 until 1998, where he worked as an electronic engineer. He earned a degree in business administration from Mesa Community College. He came to Lakeside in 1998 and was a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks in Show Low Lodge No. 2090 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Show Low Post 9907. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla; daughter Diane Vickoren of Mesa; three sons, Collin Vickoren of Lakeside, Kenneth Vickoren (Teri) of Queen Creek and Brian Vickoren of Lakeside; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents. A celebration of Vic's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Show Low Elks Lodge.
