SMITH, Randall Jay (Randy)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ January 11, 2008 Randall Jay "Randy" Smith, 55, of Lakeside, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center in Show Low. Randy was born April 19, 1952, in El Paso, Texas, to Selman J. and Ethelyn Fay (Pettis) Smith. He was raised and attended school in Phoenix, graduating from Washington High School in 1970. He entered the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. He lived in Phoenix, doing construction drywall work. He spent much time with his mother in the White Mountains. He was a descendent of Corydon Cooley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He was a wonderful father and a very giving person who will be greatly missed. Survivors include his mother, Ethelyn Daugherty of Lakeside; daughter Rana Lynn (David) Smith of Lakeside; son Randall Lewis (Jennifer) Smith of Peoria; sister Bonnie Smith of Escondido, Calif.; three brothers, Chad A. Smith of McNary, Bryan D. Smith of Peoria and Terry Daugherty of Mesa; four grandchildren, Caitlyn Smith of Peoria, Zackry Cline, Jonathan Cable and Kayla Cable, all of Lakeside.
