Graveside services were Monday, Oct. 24 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix for Elizabeth “Betty” J. Craig, 76, of Wickenburg, who died Oct. 19 in Wickenburg.
Pastor Micky of the Tempe Church of Christ officiated.
Mrs. Craig was born Dec. 8, 1911 in Tucson, and was a lifelong resident of Arizona.
She was married to William “Bill” Craig, who preceded her in death in November 1980. Bill Craig was a Wickenburg business man, an employee of the state Highway Department and severed as a member of the state legislator from 1945-1952, and a district governor at Rotary International.
Betty Craig lived in Wickenburg from 1937-1967, then moved to Sun City, returning to Wickenburg in 1984.
She was a retired chief clerk of the Maricopa County Justice Court, serving both in Wickenburg and Glendale.
She was a past president of the Wickenburg American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 12, and a graduate of Phoenix Union High School and Phoenix College.
Mrs. Craig is survived by three sons, Charles Craig of Wickenburg, Gene Craig of Modesto, Calif., and John Craig of Phoenix; a stepson Bill Craig of San Jose, Calif., a sister May Alice Pigg of Temple; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three nieces.
Arrangements were by the Wickenburg Funeral home.
