Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, January 05, 2011 Leonard Ross Ingram, 79, of Safford, Ariz. passed away on Dec. 17, 2010 at the Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. His loved ones will miss him greatly. A viewing was held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 at the Safford Funeral Home. Services were held Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at the Safford Funeral Home. Interment followed at the Safford Union Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Safford Funeral Home. ~~~~~~~~~~ Leonard Ross Ingram (79), a resident of Safford for 33 years passed away on December 17, 2010 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 23 at the Safford Funeral Home with Ken Knowlton officiating. Graveside services will follow immediately after at the Safford Union Cemetery. Leonard was born in Mesa, Arizona August 1, 1931. His life took him from Arizona, California, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, California, back to Safford, Arizona. During this time he enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, cooking, traveling all over many states with again his family and his best friend, Mary Waller, and spending time with his many, many grandchildren. Leonard started as a young man from hauling hay with a team of horses, to cutting up chickens for Swift and Company, to TV/radio repair, to an instrumentation engineer for E-systems (Raytheon) and Westinghouse-Hanford Nuclear Power Plant, to becoming a civilian employee with the US Naval Base at Seale Beach, and finally a instrumentation electrician with Phelps Dodge. Leonard retired from Phelps Dodge Corporation after 15 years. Survivors include Charles (Gail) Ingram of Safford, Michael (Pam) Ingram of Roundrock, Texas, Kathy (Harvey) Lunt of Thatcher, William (Shirley) Ingram of Morenci, Cindy (Mike) Chavez of Safford, Brenda Ingram of Safford, and Michael E. Ingram of Phoenix, 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Ingram (wife of 17 years) and Virginia Ingram (wife of 37 years).
