PAUL, John V. (Johnny)

Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, January 05, 2011 John V. “Johnny” Paul, age 83, passed away in Tucson on Dec. 23, 2010. Johnny was born in Globe, in a little house on Broad Street on Oct. 23, 1927. He was the son of Clovis Paul and Emma Susan Trojanovich. Johnny grew up in Globe, attended school and went to Holy Angels Catholic Church. After graduation, Johnny joined the Navy and was a veteran of World War II. Johnny always called Globe “home” even after moving to Casa Grande and then to Tucson. Many of his cousins still reside locally. He would recall his youth fondly and had many wonderful stories of playing with his friends, being at the family’s ranch, and Gram’s wonderful cooking. Johnny worked at the Miami Commercial after the Navy and then opened his own service stations in Globe and Miami. He changed careers and sold Chevrolet’s for many years. After retirement, Johnny and Marrine would head up to their little place in the White Mountains to fish. He always had a good fish story to tell and would generously share his “secret bait” tricks. They enjoyed traveling together. Johnny is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marrine Paul of Tucson; daughter, Cathi Paul of Portland, Ore.; brother, Tom Paul of California; step-daughter, Pam Carter of Tucson; and step-son, Richard King of Phoenix. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death his parents, his daughter Susan Paul, his brother Mike, sister Betty, and grandson John. The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care Johnny received at Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson. A memorial service is pending. Arrangements are being handled by Adair Funeral Home in Tucson.
