Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, January 05, 2011 Mercy Ortiz Lopez, age 68, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010. She was born in Safford, Ariz. She graduated from Miami High School in 1960 and moved to Phoenix, Ariz. Mercy worked in the computer/technology industry both in Arizona and California for over 13 years and later moved to Las Vegas, Nev. Mercy was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Boy Gonzalez; her stepfather, Juan A. Gonzalez; her aunt, Emilia Zapata; and her uncles, Alfred Ortiz, Ramon Ortiz and Manuel Ortiz. Mercy leaves behind her mother, Carmen O. Gonzalez of Miami; sisters, Mary (Jim) Norwood of Chandler, Ariz., Sally (Randy) Melling of Peoria, Ariz. and Carmen (Steve) Whipple of Glendale, Ariz. She also leaves behind two nieces, Sonja (Jared) Halsted of Chandler, Ariz. and Diana (Michael) Shelnutt of Phoenix, Ariz.; two nephews, Adam Norwood of Chandler, Ariz. and Everett Whipple of Glendale, Ariz.; two great nieces, Josephine Jurack of Mequon, Wis. and Michaela Shelnutt of Phoenix, Ariz. A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Miami, Ariz. Interment is at Pinal Cemetery, Central Heights, Ariz
