TAYLOR,
Rosa Mae
(Maiden Name: Bigler)
The White Mountain Independent,
Show Low, Arizona ~ January 25, 2008
Rosa Mae Bigler Barney Taylor passed sweetly from this mortal existence Jan. 22, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Rosa Mae was delivered by her grandmother, Elisa Bigler, in Snowflake Sept. 17, 1943.
Growing up she was loved dearly by parents, family, and friends and in return she made love and inclusion the theme of her life's work. She met John Barney, a handsome missionary serving in the Navajo mission and they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple Sept. 15, 1961.
John and Mae lived in Salt Lake City a few years before moving to Mesa where John grew a successful electrical contracting business. In 1978 John and Mae moved to Elberta, Utah, to continue raising their children in the wide spaces of a family farm.
Rosa Mae had a natural talent for artistic and musical expression and cultivated those talents in her children. She and John formed the Silverado's family musical performing group, which toured throughout the western United States and Canada.
After a tragic explosion and burning of the Elberta home, Rosa showed her strength of character, nursing the bodies and hearts of her family although she herself was severely injured.
The family drove their touring bus to Branson, Mo., and built a lovely home in the Ozark Mountains. Rosa Mae successfully battled and won a fight with breast cancer. She very much enjoyed entertaining family and friends visiting the Branson area. John himself succumbed to cancer May 9, 1999, and Rosa laid him to rest not far from the family home in Branson.
Rosa married Blaine McClellan and served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portland, Ore. They were later divorced.
Having moved back to Snowflake, Rosa met and married William D. Taylor Feb. 5, 2005. She relished Bill and his family, loving them as her own. Rosa Mae and Bill enjoyed serving in the Snowflake Temple, fulfilling church callings and traveling extensively visiting family.
Rosa Mae is survived by her children, Dean (Sarah) Barney, Joyleen (Kent) Worthen, James (Sandy) Barney, Suzanne (Scott) Mendenhall, Thomas (April) Barney, William (Laura) Barney, Julie (Mark) Huffaker, Jeanie (Sean) Hills, Joseph (Stephanie) Barney, Edward (Shirley) Barney, and Jill (Sterling) Larsen, Terry (Lorraine) Taylor, Greg (Diane) Taylor, Raymond Taylor and Nicole (Gary) Rindlisbacher.
She is also survived by her siblings, Larry (Pauline) Bigler, Pearl (Seth) Owens, Leon (Barbara) Bigler, Glenna (Dennis) Nichols, Garry (Deanna) Bigler, Dan (Teresa) Bigler, Sharon (Don) Marble, Scott (JoAnn) Bigler and Nancy Wilson.
