Services were Wednesday at the Congress Baptist Church for Evelyn Pearson, 70, of Congress, who died Monday, Nov. 21 at her home in Congress following an extended illness.
Pastor Everett Palmer officiated, and burial followed in the Congress Cemetery.
Mrs. Pearson was born March 3, 1918 in Los Angeles, Calif., and had lived in Congress and Octave areas for some 60 years.
She was well-known as the waitress at the 71 Café in Congress, where she worked for Mac and Marie McMurran. When she first moved to Congress in the early 1930s she worked at the old Rees Hotel and the Weaver Grocery Store.
She served as secretary of the Congress Water Co. for seven years, before retiring two years ago.
Survivors include two sons, Tom and Bill, both of Wickenburg; two daughters, Jerrie Bush of Congress and Cindy Hibbert of Wickenburg; a stepdaughter, Mildred Evans of Wickenburg; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
