The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 17, 2009 Bertha (Bert) A. Forester, 92, died Nov. 6, 2009, in Everett, Wash. Bert was born Oct. 15, 1917, in East Liverpool, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Minnie (Steel) Fryett. On Oct. 15, 1937, she married Ed Forester in Pittsburgh, Pa. They made their home in East Liverpool, Ohio, and had four children. In 1952, the family moved to Phoenix. After moving to Arizona, Bert began working for Good Samaritan Hospital and retired from there in 1979. Shortly after retiring, Bert moved to Placerville, Calif., to live with her son, Pat. She lived in California for about 16 years before moving to Lakeside to live with her daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law Carl. After 12 years, she moved to Everett, Wash. Bert loved to travel and was always looking for her next adventure. She especially enjoyed to travel with her children and grandchildren. Bert is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Carl) Fowler of Lakeside; three sons, Patrick Forester of Placerville, Calif., Sandy (Gina) of Lynnwood, Wash., and Tim (Ros) Forester of Bath, England; seven grandchildren, Deana (Bob) Hartwig of Albuquerque, N.M., Diana Douglas of Gilbert, Robert (Lori) Douglas of Show Low, Brian Forester of Situate, Mass., Natalie Forester of Bath, England, Heather Forester of Hilo, Hawaii, and Stephanie Forester of Bath, England; and four great-grandchildren, Nicole Wheaton, Ryan Williams, Ashley (Derrek) Arce and BreAnna Leinbach. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Etheleen Elliott and Florence Robinson, and brother Lawrence Fryett.
