The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ November 3, 2009 Cathy Diane Hakes Haught, 55, of Gilbert laid down her inspiring 12-year fight with cancer at home surrounded by family Oct. 26, 2009. She was born Dec. 16, 1953, in Florence to Clayton H. and Kathleen T. Hakes. Christian, wife, mother, friend, she will ever be cherished. She is survived by her siblings, Kim Hakes, Debbie Breinholt, Judy Miller and Pam McCuistion. She earned a bachelor's degree in physical education at Brigham Young University before marrying the only man she ever loved, Butch Haught, on Feb. 18, 1977, in the Mesa Temple. She wholeheartedly loved and served her six children, Blue, Dallas, Taylor, Houston, Natasha and Jennifer. Her grandchildren Cooper, Caidgen, Natalie, Amaris, Cody, Tylie, Eli, Shane, Liam and Brynn happily remember her small surprises of gifts and games at every visit. A viewing was held in her honor Oct. 31 at the Chandler Stake Center on Ray/McQueen in Chandler. Funeral services followed the viewing. A family burial was held at the Haught Cemetery in Rye.
