The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 15, 2009 Leon F. Bearden, 86, resident of Eagar, died Oct. 12, 2009, in Show Low. Leon was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Peniscot, Mo., to Carl Leon and Renda Mae Bearden. He was a retired logger, loved camping and fishing and made beautiful paintings. He is survived by his wife, Winifred Eagar Bearden of Eagar; sons Cody of Calif., Darrel of Florida and Jim of California; daughter Joni Johnson of Arizona; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at the Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Eagar.
