The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ October 1, 2009 Stephen H. Cavanaugh, 60, of Show Low died surrounded by his loving family Sept. 26, 2009, at Hospice Compassus in Pinetop-Lakeside. He was born June 15, 1949, in Portsmith, Va., to the late Joseph F. and Teresa A. (Peel) Cavanaugh. Stephen loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. His wife, sons and grandchildren brought life into his eyes. His love for spending time with them was second to none. Grace Church was his home where he embraced the Lord and the plan he had for him. It is here where he found and accepted the Lord for himself and many others. He is survived by his "sweetheart" of 30 years, Katherine Cavanaugh of Show Low; three sons, Mike (Juanita) of Show Low, Tim of Flagstaff and Steve of Florida; two grandchildren, Ezekiel and Zyden; brothers Billy and Carl; sisters Tina and Bridget; as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Hugh and Joey, as well as a sister, Jane. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Grace Church, 700 S. 19th Ave., Show Low.
