FODY, Eleanor Louise (Ellie)

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 24, 2009 Eleanor Louise "Ellie" Fody, 82, of Show Low died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at her residence following a long illness. She was born March 3, 1927, at Fairfield, Iowa, to Ernest and Alice (Miller) Mitchell. Her family moved to Tucson in 1935 where she finished school. She married Ira Wicker in 1945, and he later died in an auto accident. She married Frank "Foots" Fody in 1960. They came to Show Low in 1974 where they were very active in the Show Low Elks Lodge No. 2090. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed sewing, arts, crafts, dancing and her many friends. She also loved feeding the wildlife in her yard. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Alley of Roswell, N.M.; brother Leonard Mitchell of Apache Junction; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and daughter Randy Fox. Her family would like to acknowledge Dr. Uhall and Hospice Compassus for their exceptional care.
