SUMMERS, Thomas Arrel (Rip)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ September 14, 2009 Thomas Arrel "Rip" Summers completed his time on earth and left for his next adventure Aug. 26, 2009. Rip was born Jan. 29, 1962, in Springerville to Thomas Alan (TA) and Betty Summers. During his life he worked in all facets of the construction industry to earn his living, but the life he loved, he found at the family ranch. Rip spent countless hours there punching cows, working on windmills, fixing fence and shootin' the bull with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Betty; son Preston (Heather) Lee; daughters Casseopia and Naylene Summers; two granddaughters, Kayleece and Larissa Lee; brother Tim (Teri) Summers; sister Tahna Kim (Tom) Schneidewent; several lifelong buddies ("The Wild Bunch") and an extended cadre of beloved family and friends. Rip was preceded in death by his father TA and mother Betty. At his instruction, his body has been cremated and his ashes will be spread at the place he called "home" during a remembrance of life to be held at the Summers Ranch headquarters at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, with a potluck gathering to follow.
