Jeff "Yosemite Sam" Wayne Fabian Sr. entered into eternal rest Aug. 30, 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. He was born June 21, 1956, to Charles and Ruth Fabian in Burbank, Calif.
Jeff lived in the White Mountains for over 30 years and never once wanted to leave. He loved the outdoors including fishing. He also loved working on vehicles, motorcycle riding and anything to do with the outdoors. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was proud to have helped fight the Rodeo-Chediski fire.
Jeff is survived by his soulmate (and wife), Patti; three children, Jeff Jr. of Utah, Lisa of Tucson and Travis of Concho; stepson Jesse (Terri) Lay; and three grandchildren of Cottonwood.
His body was brought home for a private service. There will be a celebration of his life at his favorite hangout, the Branding Iron Saturday, Sept. 12, starting at 11 a.m. All who knew and loved "Yosemite" are invited.
Jeff was a wonderful, loving, caring, energetic and proud man and will be truly be missed by all who knew him.
