Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona January 26, 1989, page 2-A Former valley legislator Jim Ratliff died last Thursday at Boswell Hospital in Sun City, of a heart attack. Ratliff, 68, served 18 years in the state House of Representatives from District 15, which includes Wickenburg and Aguila. He was succeeded in last fall’s general election by Bob Williams. Ratliff was a native of Texas, who had retired to Sun City in 1966. He was retired U.S. Air Force major, and was actively involved in a number of service organizations while living in Sun city, including the Sun city Republican Club, Republican Forum West, Lions Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Retired Officers Association. He is survived by his wife, Emma, of Sun City; and a sister and a brother, both of Texas. Menke Funeral Home in Sun City was in charge of all arrangements. Contributions may be made in Ratliff’s name to the American Heart Association.
