Alice June Midkiff, 84, died Friday, July 31, 2009, peacefully at her Concho home with her husband at her side following a lengthy illness.
Alice was born June 13, 1925, in Denver, Colo., to the late William Isaiah and Alice Emily (Chamberlain) Prout.
She moved to Arizona in 1953 from California. She worked as a registered nurse throughout her working career. In addition to her work as a registered nurse, she also was an excellent homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Allen Midkiff of Concho; son Robert Midkiff of Show Low; daughters Merrily (Vince) Lathrop of St. Johns and Melody Blake of Tacoma, Wash.; grandchildren Scott Midkiff, Laura (Adrian) Donavan and James (Alissa) Midkiff; great-granddaughters Katelyn Midkiff, Emily Midkiff, Madelyn Donavan and one on the way.
Alice was preceded in death by son Richard Allen Midkiff and brother Williard Prout.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 701 S. 8th Ave. in Show Low. Immediately following service family and friends are invited to a luncheon that will be held at the church to continue celebrating her lif
