Alita Brooks was born April 19, 1955, in Whiteriver. She entered into rest Aug. 4, 2009, in Show Low.
"She will be dearly missed and there will be a special place in our hearts that no one else can ever fill."
Alita is survived by companion Andy Endfield; daughters Abigail Brooks and Carian Brooks; son Donovan Yazzie; grandchildren Kayla Gooday, Christene James, Chrispin James and Abelina James; great-grandchildren Skylee Tessay and Alyxsus Gooday; goddaughter Carleen Patterson; sisters Carol Brooks and Seretta Brooks; brothers Turner Brooks, Zackery Brooks and Tucker Brooks; and many relative and friends.
Alita's body will be brought back to her residence at 12 N. DeHose Lane in Cibecue for a two-night wake starting Thursday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. A home service will be held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m. at the family residence.
Interment will be at the Family Plot Cemetery in Cibecue.
Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
