BROWN, Buster


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ August 20, 2009 Buster Brown died Aug. 9, 2009. He was born Dec. 29, 1918. Buster was a WWII veteran. He was discharged from the Navy as a fire controlman first class. After his discharge, he worked as a security guard at Fort Huachuca and retired from civil service as chief of security of MASDAC at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. In addition to his love of gardening, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the sport as much as time permitted, especially fishing the lakes in the White Mountain areas. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ann; sister Robbie Orrell; sister-in-law Wanda Brown; cousins Dick McCormick and Bill Hanley; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal charity of your choice. A celebration of his life will be held at the Elk's Club, 615 S. Pantano Road in Tucson at 2 p.m. Sept. 24.
