Celsa Chavez Romero, 98, died Aug. 26, 2009, in Springerville. She was born July 19, 1911, in San Mateo, N.M.
Celsa was a homemaker and loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by sons Andy Romero (Lynn) of Oklahoma and Alvin (Glenda) Romero of Eagar; daughters Susie (Nap) Birner of Camp Verde, Betty Beltran of Eagar and Mary Romero of Eagar; 31 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eligio Romero; daughter Rumie Baca; sons Pat, Lee and Johnny Romero; grandson Jeffrey; and great-great-grandaughter Laci.
A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in Springerville at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Springerville Cemetery.
