Richard Joseph Kalinowski, 82, of Eagar died peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the Beehive Home surrounded by family and his wife of 60 years, Joan.
Richard was a mechanical design engineer until his retirement in 1989. He had a great love for his family and all the outdoor "critters" that he fed and took care of. He loved his dogs, cows, goats and especially feeding the area song birds.
Richard was an U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Philippines during the Pacific Campaign of World War II. He had an extreme pride in America and all things American.
Richard is survived by his wife, Joan Kalinowski of Eagar; four children, David (Diana) Kalinowski of Eagar; Linda (Byron) Jones of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Michael (Faith) Kalinowski of Hollywood, Md.; and Diane (Roddy) Neel of Lubbock, Texas; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Brenda) Dillon of Grants, N.M.; Tina (Shawn) Core of Ennis, Texas; Chris Kalinowski of Austin, Texas; Rachael (Billy) Little of Park Hall, Md.; Joanna Kalinowski of Hollywood, Md.; Matthew Kalinowski of Hollywood Md.; and Taylor Castleman of Lubbock, Texas; nine great-grandchildren, Audra Massey, Brandon Garcia, James Massey, Amber Garcia, Devyn Dillon, Mitchell Kalinowski, Garrett Kalinowski, Kaylie Little and Billy Little.
A family memorial will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Northern Arizona Alzheimer's Association, 225 Grove Ave., Suite B, Prescott, AZ 86301.
