Loretta M. Close, 80, of Snowflake died at home July 7, 2009. Loretta was born June 10, 1929, in Newark, N.J., to Henry Joseph Gugliciello and Loretta M. Inzignoli Gugliciello.
She had two brothers, Henry J. Jr., and Ferdinand Gugliciello, and a sister, Yolanda Pollard.
She married William Victor Close Aug. 4, 1951, and they lived in Snowflake for 46 years. They were blessed with three sons, William David of Snowflake, Thomas Roland (Annette) of Globe and Brian (Annie) of Tucson, and two daughters, Shelia (Steve) Lumley of Tucson and Scotty Perrin of Erwin, Tenn.
Loretta was a registered nurse for 40 years, a Sheriff's Auxiliary volunteer, a member of the Cedar Hills Ladies Friendship Club and treasurer of the Cedar Hills Bingo group.
Loretta is survived by her children, seven grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Victor Close; parents and maternal grandparents Vincenzo Inzignoli and Maria Menina Inzignoli, paternal grandparents Ferdinando Gugliciello and Josephine Pignala Gugliciello and brother Henry J. Gugliciello Jr. (who died in 1951 in the Korean War).
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, at Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Road, in Taylor with Pastor Larry of the Living Faith Church officiating.
