The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ July 20, 2009 Higinia Lucero Logan, 72, of Buckeye died on June 26, 2009, in Buckeye. She was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Horse Springs, N.M. She moved to Springerville 43 years ago, then to Oregon in 2001 and returned to Arizona last September. Higinia was a homemaker, loved to cook and spend time with her family. She is survived by her son, Rudy Chavez; sisters Jenny Moya of Springerville, Lala Kennedy, Flora Carbajal and Isabelle Najar of Reserve, N.M.; brothers Ben Griego, Frank Lucero and Ruben Lucero, also of N.M,; three grandchildren, Holly Cluff of Buckeye, Brian Chavez of Surprise and Jillian Chavez of Avondale; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Joe Logan, and daughter Virginia Baca. Funeral services will be held at a later time. Arrangements were entrusted to Thompson's Valley West Funeral Chapel.
