SWAFFORD, Paul Enoch


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ May 18, 2009 Paul Enoch Swafford, 72, of Concho died March 28, 2009, at RTA Hospice Compassus in Lakeside. He was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Dayton, Tenn., the son of Dewey and Grace (Doss) Swafford. He was raised and attended school in Dayton. He worked on a farm from the young age of 11 until he turned 17. He was enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, later being discharged for medical reasons. He moved to the White Mountains in 1959, where he worked various jobs, most recently for Redman Mobile Homes. In 1975 he met his wife Vivian, and they were together many years. He was a member of Mission Church in Vernon. He was a good man and loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Vivian; stepdaughters Clara Williams of Phoenix and Linda Smith of Iona, Mich.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m. at Mission Church in Vernon. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
