The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 30, 2009 Shirley A. Mizner, 65, of Snowflake died March 26, 2009, in Show Low. She was born April 11, 1943, to Charles and Velma White McConnell, in Stigler, Okla. As a child she moved with her family to California. She met her dear husband Robert ,and they were married July 27, 1968 in Shafter, Calif. They had two daughters, Patricia and Debbie. For many years Shirley had her own cleaning service in California. She was an avid rock collector, but her great love was her family, home and grandchildren. Also dear to her heart were her dogs. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Robert, of 41 years; daughters Patricia Cox of Bakersfield, Calf., and Debbie Cox of Snowflake; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Buford McConnell of Bakersfield, Calif., and "Tuffy" McConnell of Arkansas; and two sisters, Wanda Bush and Joyce Garland, both of Bakersfield, Calif. A viewing was held Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, at Silver Creek Mortuary with memorial service Monday, March 30, at the Word of Life Assembly of God Church in Concho.
