Barbara Kay Williams, 69, of Show Low died Wednesday, March 28, 2009, at Summit Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1939, at Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Lenora (Nidey) Brogan.
She was raised and attended school in Iowa City and Tiffin, Iowa. She married Robert "Bob" Williams June 1, 1955, at Tipton, Iowa. She lived in Tipton and Cedar Rapids before moving to Mesa in 1960.
She worked as a loan collector for the First National Bank of Mesa for 22 years. The couple purchased a weekend home on the Mountain in 1970 and moved here permanently in 1992.
She was a very active 11-year member of the Elks Lodge Emblem Club and was currently the Arizona state president of that organization.
Her family was very important to her and especially her new great-grandson. She was a very generous and giving person. She attended the White Mountain Lake Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bob; daughters Tamara (Bob) Friedman of Austin, Texas, and Luann (Art) Kenney of Show Low; two brothers, Harry Brogan of Texas and Bill Brogan of Washington; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Crystal Kay and Tracey Renee; a sister, Donna Jean Nelson; two brothers, Harold and Jim Brogan.
Viewing and visitation were held Monday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at the Show Low Elks Lodge with Pastor Robert Gallegos and the Show Low Emblem Club officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary in Show Low.
