The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ April 16, 2009 Lewis Wales Graham, 63, longtime Eagar resident and businessman, died quietly at home with his family by his side Tuesday April 14, 2009, after a battle with cancer. He was born June 28, 1945, in Albuquerque, N.M., to parents Lewis Sr. and Edna (Ramsey) Graham. Lewis grew up in New Mexico and Arizona and settled in Eagar nearly 34 years ago. He was a devout member of the Springerville Assembly of God Church. Lewis was constantly trying to find ways of bettering his community, from driving the children's Sunday school bus to direct hands-on labor and volunteering. Lewis enjoyed all things mechanical and was well known among friends and family as the "go-to guy" for help with any repair or problem that needed solving. Lewis is survived by his wife, Lourdes Graham of Eagar; daughters and sons-in-law Leah and Craig Mowry of Bernalillo, N.M., and Julie and Bobby Montiel of Belen, N.M.; son and daughter-in-law Lewis Jr. and Theresa Graham of Alamogordo, N.M.; sisters Patricia Schalbrack of San Diego Calif., and Kay Pritchett of Oolagah Okla.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
