Leta Marie Friesen died on November 30, 2010, while visiting her son and his family in Kansas. Born to Howard and Frieda Loew in Burnips, Mich., she attended a country school near her farm home and graduated from high school in Hudsonville, Mich.
She met her future husband, Eugene Friesen, while attending Owosso College. They were married on December 21, 1948. Three children were born to this union: Linda Marie Corrigan (Dan), Robert Friesen (his companion Michael) as well as the Reverend Edward Friesen whose wife Michelle McCorkle is also an ordained United Methodist Clergyperson. She faced life and death with great courage. All whose lives were touched by hers are richer because she lived and walked among them.

The Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at the Green Valley Community Church on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. She was a member of this church choir during the time that her husband was one of the clergy on staff.
