KIEFER, Christopher Davis

KIEFER, Christopher Davis, son of Muriel and Frederick, was born in New York City January 9, 1950 and died in Torrance, CA, December 8, 2010. He spent his early years in New York and in Baltimore, where he excelled at his studies, especially classical Greek and Latin. All his life he had a special love for music, and in the last dozen years devoted himself to teaching guitar and building guitars. Everyone who knew Chris felt the quiet force of his character, particularly his compassion and generosity of spirit. During the last years of his life, he was heroic in caring for his mother as her health declined. Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Weathers; by his brother, Frederick and by their families. Cheryl said this week "He was the kindest man I ever knew".
