LEHMAN,
Renaye (Ricki)
Renaye "Ricki" Lehman born September 30, 1929, said her final goodbye on Monday, December 13, 2010 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Her passing was as gentle as the woman she was. She was surrounded by her family and survived by her beloved and devoted husband of 60 years, Stanley; children, Andrew (Juanita), Richard and Nancy (Mark) Bishop; grandchildren, Ryan Bishop, Tracy (Tom) Schumacher and great-grandchildren, Shelby and Londyn.
During her life, although hampered by Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and later Alzheimer's, Ricki was able to dedicate her time and efforts towards worthy causes by becoming certified by the Library of Congress as a braillist and proofreader as well as a Patient Instructor in the muscular and skeletal examination program for second year medical students at UMC; both of which she enjoyed immensely.
She was an avid reader and a lover of English and Greek history, classical music, the ballet and involved with many literary groups relating to the classics. For as long as her disease allowed she played piano, writing her own music and lyrics.
The family wants to express their gratitude and love to her loving and dedicated caregivers Debbie Grijalva and Dalia Leon who made her life and death a peaceful journey. Special thanks are extended to the incredibly dedicated and committed staff at Odyssey Hospice. They are true angels.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a fund established by the Lehman Foundation at the Ricki Lehman Nursing Research Endowment, UMC Foundation 655 East River Road, Tucson 85704 or by calling 694-6088. Funeral Services to be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at EVERGREEN MORTUARY AND CEMETERY with Rabbi Arthur Oleisky and Cantor Ivor Lichterman officiating in the Chapel.
