Harold Volker Wilson, 90, a resident of Puyallup, died Jan 24, in Tacoma.
He was born Sept 4, 1911 in Raton, NM to Nellie and Henry Wilson.
He was a machinist by profession, and in 1949 he moved to Winslow, Ariz. and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, and then retired from there in 1974. He then moved to Los Angeles, Calif., and became a supervisor and worked for Waste King Kitchen Appliance. He then lived in Spanaway for 18 years before moving to Puyallup in 2000.
He was a 65-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge of Huntington Park, Calif. He was also a jazz musician and played the drums in many bands.
He was preceded in death by his son Frederick Joseph Wilson in 1934.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Mabel (Slater) Wilson of Puyallup; daughter Ida Van Grinseven of Puyallup; one grandson; one granddaughter Patricia of Sumner; five great-granddaughters.
A reception of remembrance will be conducted from 2 to 5pm Feb 2, at the Puyallup Elks Lodge at 314 27th St NE in Puyallup. Private interment will follow.
