Mabel Elizabeth Wilson, 89, a resident of Puyallup, died March 22.
She was born Oct 20, 1913 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Ida and Ben Slater.
She lived in Torrance, Calif. for many years, then moved to the Spanaway area residing there for 13 years. She moved to Puyallup in 2000. She loved to do crafts, fish, dance, garden and listen to Hal when he played drums. Her family would like to thank the staff of Linden Grove Care Center in Puyallup and Group Health Cooperative Hospice for all their loving care.
She was preceded in death and she went to join her loving husband of 71 years Harold Wilson; son Fred Wilson; her parents Ben and Ida Slater; brother Thomas Slater; sister Edna Witherow and a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her daughter Ida Mae Van Grinsven of Puyallup; brother Ben Slater of Auburn, Wash, James Slater of Peoria, Ariz; sisters Mary Selvey of Phoenix, Ariz. and Grace Cole of Sutherlin, Ore.; granddaughter Patty Smith of Sumner; grandson Jon Cady of Reno, Nev.; five great-granddaughters; one great-great-grandaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
A recitation of the Rosary will be conducted at 7pm March 27 at Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Puyallup. A funeral mass will be conducted at 10pm March 28 at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, followed by a graveside service at Sumner Cemetery.
The family suggests remembrance donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
