Memorial services and burial will be held at a later date in Alden, Iowa. He was born in Buckeye on Aug. 11, 1930, the son of Frank and Ida Runge Bessman. He was educated in the Buckeye schools. On June 29, 1950 he was united in marriage to La Donna Fae Miller at Iowa Falls. They had lived in serveral communities and had moved to Phoenix in 1978 . He had been employed as a carpenter, meat cutter, department manager, and as a meat inspector for the state of Arizona. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, Moose Lodge, and Lutheran Church of Hope in Phoenix. Surviving is his wife, LaDonna of Phoenix; two daughters, Marilyn Hall and Diane Devine, two sons Robert and Donald; seven grandchildren ; two brothers, Otis of Iowa Falls and William of Bentonville, AR. five sisters Elsie Brandt of Buckeye, Edna Nicholson of Alden, Esther Nicholson of Britt, Irma Burke of Bentonville, Ark, and Martha Havens of Alden. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
