HENRY, II, Thomas (Dr.)


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, January 11, 2011 Dr. Thomas Henry II, 78, formerly of Flagstaff, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at home in the arms of his wife, Sheila, on their 33rd wedding anniversary. He was surrounded by family who comforted him in his final days. He battled prostate cancer for many years and was gently cared for by Hospice. Dr. Henry was born Jan. 27, 1932, in Morgantown, Pa. He attended Monmouth College and obtained his medical degree at Temple University. After graduation, he fulfilled his commitment to the U.S. Army and was stationed in El Paso, Texas, Germany and Torrance, Calif. After serving in the Army for 10 years, he settled his family in Flagstaff, where he practiced internal medicine for 30 years. He continued his Army service through the years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retirement, he and Sheila moved to Annapolis, Md., which is close to his brother Bob. He enjoyed many years of golf, bridge and travel. Dr. Henry is survived by wife Sheila; sons Doug (Katherine) and Charles (Kathy); daughter Theresa (John); daughter-in-law Ivy; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Tom, and first wife Peg.
