SANDEFUR, Tyrel Dean


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 9, 2009 Tyrel Dean Sandefur of Taylor died March 6, 2009, at the young age of 16. He was born Oct. 7, 1992, and was a beloved son and brother. Tyrel was a likeable person and made friends easily. People of all ages were drawn to him by his easygoing manner and likeable smile. Tyrel faced life head on and never held back. He loved the outdoors especially working on his grandparent's ranch or hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing baseball and went on to win the Kenny Hennsley award. His passion were horses and bullriding. His dream was to join the PBR. He was a sophomore at Northern Arizona Academy in Taylor. He is survived by mother Dana Acord; father Carl Sandefur; stepfather Dale Bailey; stepmother Kerri Sandefer; brother Tell Sandefur; grandmother Pat Edwards; grandparents Duane and Leigh Acord; stepbrother Daniel Mendes; and stepsister Sierra Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the White Mountain Bible Church, 3171 Show Low Lake Road, in Show Low. Arrangements were handled by Silver Creek Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Riding for Christ Fellowship or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
