Jasper 'Papa' Hugh Schilleman, 78, of Pinetop went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, March 2, 2009, surrounded by his loving family.
Papa was born in North Holland, Mich., Oct. 14, 1930, and moved to Phoenix with his parents, Elmer and Gertrude, and brothers in 1944 where he attended North Phoenix High School and Phoenix College.
During his life, he served in the U.S. Air Force and owned dairies in both Camp Verde and Hereford.
In the mid-'70s, he and his family moved to Pinetop where he opened El Taco, a Mexican food restaurant.
Upon retirement he worked for White Mountain Summer Homes Country Club as a security guard and proudly remained with them for 18 years.
"He will be missed so much but will always be in our hearts."
Papa is survived by his loving wife, Roaellen Pickett; two daughters, Katherine (Ron) Bales, Rosellen (Kevin) Cooley and Bryan (Kelly) Schilleman; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Nathan and Robert; and a very large extended family.
A celebration of his blessed and highly favored life will be held at 1 p.m. March 21 at the First Baptist Church in Show Low, 700 N. Central Ave.
