The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, January 11, 2011 Robert Donald Monti, 87, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born Jun 23, 1923, in Florissant, Mo., passed away Jan. 10, 2011. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Jan. 13, 2011 at St. Germaine's Catholic Church in Prescott Valley. Final farewell and commendation with military honors will be 11 a.m. Jan. 14, 2011, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Cave Creek, Ariz. Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with funeral arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Thursday, January 13, 2011 Robert Monti, beloved husband of Barbara for 50 years, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011. Robert was born June 23, 1923, in Florissant, Mo., and later proudly served as a 1st Lt. naval aviator during WWII. Robert moved to Westminster, Calif., where he started his family and worked more than 20 years in the grocery business before eventually retiring to Prescott Valley in 1982. Robert spent the past 29 years serving the Lord as a devout Catholic, reading, riding his bike, playing cards with friends and family and maintaining his lifelong passion for golf. Later in life, Robert enjoyed receiving the Lord's message at home on his favorite Christian Networks. Robert is survived by his wife Barbara (Holmberg) Monti; daughter Jan Monti of Montrose, Calif.; son Martin Monti (Lisa Frazer) of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; granddaughter Michelle (Andrew) Huggins of Phoenix; and grandsons Ryan and Jason Karbelk of La Crescenta, Calif. He is also survived by his sister Anne Bordes of St. Louis, Mo. A funeral Mass was Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Drive, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Final Farewell and Commendation will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
