Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona June 29, 1989, page 2-A Services were Wednesday at the Grace Mennonite Church in Phoenix for Amos J. Kropf, 91, of circle City, who died June 24 in the Wickenburg Nursing Home. Pastor Lyle Kropf and Pastor James Kropf officiated. Mr. Kropf was born Nov. 20, 1887 in East Lynn, Mo. He had lived in Arizona for the past six years. He was a farmer, and was instrumental in starting the first Mennonite Church in the Phoenix Area. He moved to Arizona from Oregon in 1983. Survivors, include seven daughters, Nona Headings, Priscilla Birkey and Lottie Miller of Halsey, Ore, Ruby Hershberger and Melina Mast, both of circle city, and Verda Ropp and Verna Ropp, both of Albany, Ore; three sons, Leo of Wickenburg, Harry of Albany, and Victor of Hasey; 64 grandchildren; 197 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, in care of Grace Mennonite Church, 9407 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix 85021. Hansen Mortuary of Phoenix was in charge of all arrangements.
