Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona July 6, 1989, page 2-A Davis “Dave” W. Hammond, 65, of Oroville, Calif., died recently of an apparent heart attack at his cabin at Lake Almanor. Hammon was born Aug. 10, 1923 in Wickenburg, the son of Davis W. Hammon, Sr. and the former Minnie Dowdy. Mr. Hammon was a longtime Oroville businessman, certified public Accountant and stockbroker for the past 30 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, re-enlisted after the war. He graduated in 1953 from California State University, Chico, with a degree in accounting. He married his wife, Marjorie, who survives him, in 1953. He was active in a number of community affairs in Oroville, and was a member of the American Cancer society and the Heart Fund. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dave Hammon of Marysville, Calif. and Scott Hammon of Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Ann Faucy of Durham, N. H., Ruth Hanna of Safford, and Rosa Harrison of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one brother, John “Bill” Hammon of Las Vegas.
