Memorial services were Saturday, Oct. 7 for William B. Bratton of Wickenburg, who died early this month.
He will be buried Oct. 27 at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia with full military honors.
Mrs. Bratton was retired from the San Jose Mercury News newspaper in San Jose, Calif., where he worked as photoengraver for 30 years.
He had lived in Wickenburg since his retirement in 1985, and was active in the Wickenburg Horseman’s Association, publishing the club’s newsletter and serving on the board of directors.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He was an aerial photographer in the military, and an avid collector of cameras.
Survivors include his wife, Erma, of Wickenburg; a sister, Joan Mahugh of San Jose; two daughters, Patricia and Barbara; a step-daughter, Norene; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family requests that all memorials be made to the Wickenburg Elementary School library.
He will also be missed by his two favorite dogs, Frank and Ernest.
