Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona November 23, 1989, page 2-A Burial was Tuesday in the Wittmann Cemetery for Ernest Cleveland Howell, 81, of Wittmann who died Nov. 18 following a long illness. Mr. Howell was born Oct. 14, 1908 near Rathdrum, Idaho, where he lived for 60 years before moving to Wittmann in 1969. He worked 45 years logging in the woods of northern Idaho, where he also trapped fur in the winter. Each November he hunted big game – elk, deer and bear – to provide meat for his family the year-round. He enjoyed fishing, and built several homes. Mr. Howell is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Pauline, of Wittmann; two children, Richard W. Howell of Idaho and Anita L. Townsend of Rockaway Beach, Ore.; and a granddaughter, Suzette Lewis of Salem, Ore.
