Kathryn I. Nelson, 77, of Lakeside died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, at RTA Hospice in Lakeside. She was born May 13, 1931, in Kansas City, Miss., the daughter of Olegboyes and Daisy (Ewers) Johnson.

She graduated from high school and college in Kansas City. She moved to Phoenix in 1968 and Lakeside in 1994. She had been a bookkeeper, homemaker and was a beloved mother.

She is survived by her son, David Cable of Lakeside; sister Billie McLean of Glendale; grandchildren January Cunningham of Glendale, Jennifer Cable of Phoenix, special grandson Jonathan Cable of Lakeside, Kayla Cable and Zackary Cline, both of Farmington, Miss.; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband William Nelson.

Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary, Show Low.
