The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 16, 2009 Frank Clemons, 79, of Concho left this world peacefully March 8, 2009, at RTA Hospice at Palliative Care in Lakeside after a nine-month battle with melanoma. He was born Dec. 14, 1929, to A.O. and Edna (Chisum) Clemons in Muldrow Okla. Frank served with the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Battleship New Jersey until he was honorably discharged in 1951. Frank was a meat cutter by trade and worked for Alpha Beta Grocery store in Calif. He also worked in auto sales in Washington and California. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Jeep Club and proud of his No. 52 jeep. He had many passions, gardening, sailing and cooking, and he always had a project he was working on. Frank was a person of courage, strength and strong beliefs. He married the love of his life, Jan Sampson, and together they spent 32 wonderful years. He is survived by his wife, Jan; three children, Teresa Patterson, Joe Clemons and Pam Clemons; and granddaughter Chelsea Patterson, all of Livingston, Mont.; sisters Sue (Bob) Woodworth of Wyo., and Wanda (Ray) Dean of Yakima, Wash.; brother JR (Tricia) Clemons of Vancouver Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Ray Clemons. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Silver Creek Mortuary. A memorial service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 701 S. 8th Ave., in Show Low.
