The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 26, 2009 Violet Bolenbaugh, 79, of Show Low died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1929, at Midland, Mich., to Wilbur and Helen (O'Dell) Smith. She married Paul James Bolenbaugh Nov. 8, 1952, in Michigan. She moved to Florida in 1969 and came to Show Low in May 2008. She was a lifelong homemaker and enjoyed cooking and movies. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Chris) Costos of Show Low and Christina Marie (Roger) Allard of Brooksville, Fla.; three sons, John Allen (Billy) Bolenbaugh of Brooksville, Fla., James Irving (Lois) Bolenbaugh of Moore, S.C., and Jeffery Lynn (Julie) Bolenbaugh of Lake Park, Ga.; sisters Ruth Emmerson of Auburn, Mich., Marge Rearick and Hilda Cheesman; brother Jerry Smith of Lakeland, Fla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Arrangements were under the direction of Black's Mortuary in Show Low.
