FORTMAN, Archie Lew

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ March 26, 2009 Archie Lew Fortman, 83, died March 18, 2009, in Tucson with his loving wife, Linda, by his side. He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Pacific Grove, Calif. Archie was a longtime Tucson and Lakeside resident. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy when WWII ended and retired after 30 years with Hughes Aircraft Co. in Tucson. He was a proud member of the Elks Lodge 2090 and VFW Post 10188. He was a much loved husband, father, brother and grandfather and will be missed by all. He is survived by wife Linda, sister Rosemary (Robert) Maurer, sons Larry, Dennis (Deb) and Dan (Margene) Fortman, stepchildren Linda (Scott) Carlson and Michael Carroll, nephews Robert and David Maurer and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by daughters Janice Fortman and Pam Cade Arrangements were private. The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association.
