The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 6, 2009 Bernita Poblano entered into rest Jan. 29, 2009, in Mesa. She was born June 16, 1964, in Whiteriver. Bernita is survived by her son, Larold Tony; daughters Marlinda Nosie Cheney and Almiria Altaha; granddaughters Kalaigh Tonay and Martisha Cheney; grandsons Larrellmie Tonay, Fabian Cheney and Amire Cheney; brother Jimmy Poblano; nephews Redell Clawson and Joseph Riley; aunts Georgianna Truax and Nellie Dean; uncle Jackson George Sr. and companion Lester Tony Sr. A two-night wake will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at her family residence in Turkey Creek (3805 East Fork Road). Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Riverside Church in East Fork with Pastor Valentina Begay officiating. Interment will be at the Seven Mile Cemetery in Whiteriver. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled the arrangements.
