DAVIS, Howard George


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 20, 2009 Howard George Davis died at home Feb. 12, 2009, in Heber. He was born Jan. 4, 1964, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Floyd Alfred Davis and Clarice June (Wager) Davis. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After attending Tempe High School he joined the U.S. Army and served as a correctional Specialist at Fort Carson, Colo. After leaving the service, Howard worked in the hospitality field at Yosemite, Death Valley and Yellowstone National Parks and with Princess Cruises in Alaska and at Orcas Island, Wash. Howard will be remembered for his love of his family. He had a passion for Star Trek and always remembered the opportunity to play one of the crew members of the Enterprise at Universal Studio Amusement Park that showed the audience how crew members were "beamed" from the Enterprise ship to planets. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Alfred Davis. Howard is survived by his mother, Clarice Davis; two brothers, Clarence Davis of Mesa and Floyd Davis of Queen Creek; three sisters, Wanda Davis of Surprise, Erleen Rupe of Mesa and Laura Hart of Surprise; three nieces and eight nephews; one great-niece and two great-nephews. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled arrangements
