The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 27, 2009 Valetria Nozie, 27, of Whiteriver died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, in Whiteriver. She was born April 8, 1981, in Whiteriver, the daughter of Timothy and Delphine (Kessay) Nozie Jr. She was raised and attended school in Whiteriver and attended Sherman School in Riverside, Calif. She worked as a firefighter, waitress and recently as a lift operator at Sunrise Ski Resort. She enjoyed basketball and snow boarding. She was always happy and laughing. She loved her four children, nieces and nephews. She was a member of East Fork Miracle Church. Survivors include her daughter, Alicia Yazzie, and three sons, Davin Yazzie Jr., Scott Yazzie and Isaiah Yazzie, all of Whiteriver; mother Delphine Nozie; father Timothy Nozie Jr.; three sisters, Demetria Eagleman of Phoenix, Jenna Theo Nozie and Maria Nozie of Whiteriver; brothers Timothy Nozie III, Adrian Nozie, Sabio Nozie, Eric Nozie and Steven Nozie; grandmothers Luna Kessay and Yvonne Newhall. A wake will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 27, at 3219 E. Fork Road. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, March 1, at North Fork Miracle Church with Bishop Preston Kessay officiating. Burial will be at Golden Gauge Cemetery at Diamond Creek. Arrangements are under the direction of Black's Mortuary of Show Low.
